More
Training!
- There will be two offerings of the Post-Award Fundamentals
class in the near future. Non-BSD administrators will be able
to attend a session at the Regenstein training center on Thursday,
Sept. 4th from 9am-noon. BSD administrators are invited to
attend a session in S-100 on Friday, Sept. 5th from 9am-noon.
If you have any questions, or to RSVP, please contact Susan
Boone at susanb@ura.uchicago.edu.
Pre-Award Fundamentals classes are scheduled for November;
please see this document
for course and registration information.
- Have you ever wondered what kinds of professional organizations
there are for research administrators? Well, wonder no more!
Professional Organizations for the Sponsored Programs Administrator
is a "brown bag lunch" information session designed
to give research administrators tools for professional development.
Don't miss this valuable opportunity to better understand
what it means to be a "research administrator" and
the many opportunities offered by professional organizations.
The session will be held in the Regenstein Library training
room on Tuesday, September 2nd from noon-1pm; see the attached
flyer for more information on this and other upcoming classes.
Please RSVP to Susan Boone at susanb@ura.uchicago.edu.
Billing
Update
- Starting with July '03 bills and each month thereafter,
copies of all bills prepared by Restricted Funds will be mailed
to the Account Administrator #1 listed for that account. Please
contact Pat Hallow (pchallow@uchicago.edu,
2-1972), Manager of Accounting and Reimbursement, if you have
any questions.
Livery
Contract (Not the organ)
- An announcement went out recently regarding livery and shuttle
services from Gene Suwanski, the Director of Central Procurement
Services. It discusses the contracts we have with specific
vendors and the necessity of using these providers if using
award monies. The announcement is at http://adminet.uchicago.edu/adminann/livery_2003.html.
The
Final Word
- Some of you may already know, but I will be leaving the
university to return to teaching. I taught English as a Second
Language and test preparation to adults for many years before
coming to the university and I feel the need to get back into
the classroom. My last day is September 5th. I've enjoyed
working with each and every one of you and I wish you all
much success in the future.
